ANACOSTIA RIVER RESTORATION

The Anacostia River is frequently plagued by litter, runoff, and unsafe swimming conditions. The District of Columbia has been working toward cleaning up the river and returning it to be the vibrant river it once was. Perennial Garden Club, along with two fellow DC-area GCA clubs, partnered to clean up and restore sections of the Anacostia with plantings to help add oxygen to the waters and provide habitat for birds and fish.
